Description

The latest generation of ARC 1100 DICUT wheels – available in disc brake version in four different rim heights 80 mm, 62 mm, 50 mm and 38 mm – was developed in cooperation with SWISS SIDE, leading expert in aerodynamic optimization. Consequently, the new AERO+ rim profile minimizes both aero drag and steering moment to improve its aerodynamic and controlling in even strong cross wind. Thus, it makes it easier for the rider to keep the aero wheel under control while taking advantage of the forward-pushing sailing effect. The wheel setup is completed by the new DT Swiss aero spokes in combination with the sleek 180 DICUT hub including ultra-light running SINC ceramic bearings. - ARC 1100 DICUT 80: The sophisticated wheelset in the quest for best times on flat to slightly undulating courses. - ARC 1100 DICUT 62: The all-round aero wheelset with excellent performance for various riding fields. - ARC 1100 DICUT 50: The most agile and fast accelerating wheelset for hilly or flat courses with sharp turns. - ARC 1100 DICUT 38: The ultimate climbing wheelset combining light weight and aero-optimization for a swift rise to the top. - ARC 1100 DICUT WTS: The ARC 1100 DICUT db wheels are now available as an aero-optimized wheel tire system (WTS), mounted with the new AERO 111 tire in 26 mm width in the front and a Continental GP 5000 STR in 28 mm width in the rear. Special Three Decades Edition: - Aero, light and stylish, the ARC 1100 DICUT DB 38 3DEC is available in a limited design to celebrate DT Swiss’ 30th anniversary. Wheel Tire System: - Now available as an aero-optimized wheel tire system (WTS) mounted with the new AERO 111 tire in the front. Rim Height: - Available in disc brake version in four different rim heights 80 mm, 62 mm, 50 mm and 38 mm. Rim: - Each rim is designed for a specific riding environment, from 38 mm ideal for big climbs, to 80 mm for all-out triathlons and time trials. Hub: - New aero 180 DICUT hubs with low-friction SINC Ceramic bearings. Spokes: - The latest generation of aerodynamically optimized spokes for lower rotational and translational drag. System weight: - The system weight is composed of the weight of the rider and his equipment, plus the bike with luggage. Hooked / Crotchet tubeless TC: - Hooked or crotchet refers to the shape of the rim flange. In this variant, the rim flange has a so-called hook. This supports the fixation of the tire bead and ensures safe function, also in high pressure use cases (>5 bar tire pressure). Tubeless refers to the ability of the rim to be used without a tube, but a tube set up is also possible. Rim Diameter: - The 700c (622 mm / 29 inches) is the most common wheel size for road racing. The 650b (584 mm / 27.5 inches) wheel size is used in specific areas. Each wheel size offers unique advantages for different kinds of riding. Rim height: - In cycling, rim height significantly impacts the aerodynamics, agility and weight of the wheel. The general principle is the higher the profile of the rim, the greater the aerodynamic advantage; the lower the profile of the rim, the greater the response and better the handling when cornering and changing speed. Rim Inner Width: - DT Swiss offers MTB rims with inner rim widths of 20 - 76 mm. The right combination of tire width and rim width leads to ideal tire support. Better tire support reduces the risk of ´´burping´´ and therefore allows the tire pressure to be reduced. On the other hand, wider rims and wider tires also increase the weight of the wheels. Thru-axle: - Thru-axle refers to a wheel mounting system. RWS technology from DT Swiss allows quick, precise mounting simply by turning an easily adjustable lever. Thru-axle systems guarantee a rigid and secure connection between the wheel and the frame. Thru-axles must be compatible with the frame and fork because the built-in-width, diameter and thread of the axle vary and are defined by the frame and fork manufacturer. Brake Interface: - The advantage of the Center Lock system is that the disc brake attachment is made with one single lock ring, which facilitates assembly. On the other hand, an advantage of the IS-System (6 Bolt) is that in the event of a necessary repair on the trail, no special tool is needed for disassembly. Center Lock: - Center Lock refers to a system for brake discs that was developed by Shimano. The brake disc is mounted on the hub by means of an external spline and screwing on a lock ring. The advantage of the Center Lock system is that the brake discs are centered and mounting requires only screwing down a single lock ring. Sinc Ceramic: - At DT Swiss we believe that the difference is in the detail. SINC ceramic ball bearings are precisely based on such details. Thanks to the optimization of these details, a DT Swiss wheel with a SINC upgrade simply means that you will be ahead of the field, your friends or setting new personal bests. Tubeless Technology: - All DT Swiss wheelsets are tubeless compatible and the ASM versions come tubeless ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Bearing: - DT Swiss hubs are designed to function optimally once installed in a bicycle. To achieve this, the clamping force created by the wheel mounting system must be taken into account when constructing a hub. Learn how to ensure the optimal rotating property of the ball bearings and discover why DT Swiss does not offer hubs with adjustable bearing clearance.
